Drugs a boon or bane!


There are various types of substances which are used for a high. Among few are Marijuana, Grass, and Ecstasy etc. Various drugs have different functions. But all of them hit the mental ability of a person. Some of them are also prescribed drugs. They are suggested by the doctor for getting sound sleep. But taking overdose of it can lead to fatal incidents. Hence these are to be taken in a suggested measure.Abusing any substance can lead to very dangerous and life threatening incidents.


Ecstasy addiction is a drug that can cause mental addiction and we treat many young men and women for whom ecstasy is a primary drug of choice. This drug can be snorted, smoked or taken orally in a form a tablet. Some of the addicts also take this drug intravenously, meaning injecting through the veins. This drug is more popular among the youth, due to its comparatively easy access. This drug is mainly used for getting the ecstatic kind of feeling. Hence the name! This drug induces euphoria and diminishes anxiety or stress as well as depression. Not all is dark with this drug.


Experts say that this drug has many therapeutic usages in psychological field. Besides it is used as a prescribed drug in prescribed measures. Some experts are carrying out a research for testing the potential use of this drug in PTSD and fighting depression associated with cancer. But due to its misuse, this drug has entered into the black list of the governing bodies. Many countries have banned the sale of this drug and have labeled it as a criminal activity. One of the official statements published in October 2008 declares that, low doses of MDMA (between 50 and 75 mg) were both psychologically and physiologically safe for all the subjects.


Addiction to ecstasy has various side effects including increases in heart rate and blood pressure, a special risk for people with circulatory problems or heart disease, and other symptoms such as muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, nausea, blurred vision, faintness, and chills or sweating. Psychological effects can include confusion, sleep problems, drug craving, and severe anxiety. Erratic mood swings and depression can lead to isolation from friends and family. Another common effect of ecstasy use is decreased performance on the job or in school. All this leads to an unstable state of mind and body. But the treatment for this is readily available. So, if someone wishes to get out f the clutches of drugs, the help is available.
